Our whisks are handcrafted in Takayama, Nara Prefecture, the small village where Japanese whisk-making began over 500 years ago. The whisk's craftsmanship has officially been recognized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a Certified Traditional Craft.

Each whisk is entirely shaped and woven by hand from a single piece of natural bamboo, ensuring no glue, seams, or chemical additives are used. The traditional 100-prong design feels light in your hand and effortlessly creates smooth, frothy matcha, Perfect for beginners and seasoned matcha lovers.

How to Use
  1. Soak: Dip the tips in warm water for 30-60 seconds before use to soften the bamboo.
  2. Whisk: Move the whisk quickly back and forth in a "M" motion.
  3. Rinse & Air Dry: Clean gently with warm water and stand upright to air dry.

    We recommend using our whisk holder to dry thoroughly.

  • Avoid soap or dishwasher use.
  • Don't soak overnight or store damp.
  • Keep in a dry, shaded place.
  • Use regularly. A chasen performs best when in gentle daily use.
